"Changing practices and culture in a project lifecycle"

Presenter: Ben Slack
Duration: 50 mins
  • Brief introduction to the ideas of change and project management.
  • Although a change project involves "soft" skills and practices, it can still benefit from the rigour of a project management approach.
  • Identifying your primary "change agent": should this be a project or program manager, or, the senior executive responsible for the outcomes.
  • Building support and momentum for change should be a tightly controlled process. You need to measure your success in building momentum at milestone points along the project path.
  • Communication is the key to successful change. This means your strategy should be clearly defined and communicated to all stakeholders.
  • Technology can be useful to facilitate open lines of communication between management and staff.
