Consulting
Management consulting is, by definition, a generalist profession. Virtual Xpert consultants like
to be "thrown in at the deep-end" of an organisation, virtually becoming experts in the industry and
business model in double-quick time.
Within the bounds of our mission statement, and according to our preferred
business analysis and project management methodologies, Virtual Xpert consultants are prepared to do
"anything, anytime, anywhere". Having said this, the most common kinds of project we undertake are:
Although we are well versed in the use of technology to solve business problems, we are also very
aware that a technology solution is not the answer to every business problem. We've heard and
believe Russell Ackoff's (attribution in Matheson, 1998) anecdote about installing mirrors to
solve the problem of the slow elevator. This stopped complaints of slowness and proved a cheap and easy
solution when compared with engineering a faster elevator. The problem was not that the elevators were
slow, it was the perception that they were.
Virtual Xpert consultants pride themselves on the ability to perceive your business from many different
perspectives and develop the best value for money solutions to business problems, with or without
technology.
