Systems Xpert provides a complete range of machines in the cloud. These are virtual machine installations available over the internet. Our cloud machines can be configured with OpenVPN or other VPN software of your choice as a VLAN server, so you can use them as if they were a server on your LAN. Our cloud machines are also a reliable and cost-effective choice for hosting Web sites and internet applications. They can be upgraded to higher specifications as your requirements increase.

CPanel servers start from $99 per annum and virtual machines from $750 per annum for a low-specification installation excluding any operating system licenses.

CPanel is a Web application that runs on your internet browser for administering simple Web servers running the Linux-Apache-MySQL-PHP (LAMP) platform. We offer our CPanel machines from $99.00 per annum with a single domain name and unlimited parked domain names, so you can forward several domains to the one Web site. Serving more than one domain is available at extra cost.

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer secure HTTPS Web sites with our CPanel servers, unless you are prepared to use Systems Xpert's certificate for your online store or secure content. For professional online stores and protected applications, we recommend using our FreeBSD or Linux virtual machines.

Our preferred operating system, which powers all our software-as-a-services products and most of our internal systems, is FreeBSD UNIX. FreeBSD is an enterprise strength accredited UNIX that offers many advantages over Linux for server functions. Additionally, FreeBSD is binary compatible with Linux, so any Linux software can be installed on FreeBSD.

For additional cost, Systems Xpert can provide maintenance and support for the FreeBSD operating system and many applications running on FreeBSD, such as Apache Web server, Apache Tomcat, the PostgreSQL relational database system, CMS Made Simple, Dokuwiki and any of the applications listed on our IT Consulting page. We provide cloud-based virtual machines for the RedHat Fedora, Novell SUSE and Ubuntu Linux distributions. Other Linux distributions may be available according to demand.

Licenses for RedHat and SUSE Enterprise Linux are also available if you need your operating system to be supported and maintained by a Linux vendor. Additionally, we can provide support and maintenance for any of the applications listed on our IT Consulting page.

Windows Server is the most popular server operating system for small-to-medium business because it is easy to use and administer. We can host either Server 2003 or Server 2008 in the Small Business or Standard editions. Our Windows Server virtual machines are supplied with Remote Desktop Access for administration of the complete operating system.

You must also buy licenses for Microsoft Windows Server.
